Excel Macro Remover
Remove VBA macros from Excel workbooks - all macros or selected modules.
Drop Excel files here
or click to browse (.xlsm, .xlsb, .xlsx, .zip - max 15 MB)
Macro removal modes:
List each module’s and Excel Object’s real Sub/Function names from the file. Tick a standard module to remove all of its macros, or tick individual procedures. Excel Objects (ThisWorkbook, Sheet1) appear when they contain macros — you can remove those macros, but not the objects themselves.
Ready. Upload macro-enabled Excel workbooks to begin.
What was removed
Limits & notes
- Supported: .xlsm, .xlsb, .xlsx (with VBA), and .zip archives of those files.
- Remove all modules (or when no macros remain) strips VBA — .xlsm → .xlsx; .xlsb stays .xlsb.
- Selective removal keeps .xlsm/.xlsb while any macros/modules remain.
- Macro names are read dynamically from each module’s VBA source (any Sub/Function name in your file).
- Excel Objects (ThisWorkbook, Sheet1) appear when they contain macros — remove those macros only; the objects stay.
- Your plan (Free): up to 15 MB, 5 selectable modules, and 5 files per batch.
| Plan | Upload | Max modules | Max files |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free (you) | 15 MB | 5 | 5 |
| Pro | 30 MB | 10 | 20 |
| Premium | 60 MB | All | 50 |
Done
How to Use
- Upload one or more Excel files (.xlsm, .xlsb, .xlsx) or a ZIP archive.
- Select which workbooks to process from the Excel files dropdown.
- Choose Remove all macros, or Remove selected modules and pick modules from the Modules dropdown.
- Choose Single file or Batch ZIP download, then click Remove macros.
- Download the result. Use Clear to start over.
Pro Tips
- Remove all always works regardless of module count; selective removal is capped by your plan.
- After a full strip, .xlsm is saved as .xlsx; .xlsb keeps its extension.
- Legacy .xls must be Save As .xlsm/.xlsx in Excel first.
- Selective removal edits vbaProject.bin in place; if no user modules remain, a full strip runs automatically.
- Upload size follows your plan (defaults: Free 10 MB / Pro 25 MB / Premium 50 MB).
